Operations Manager – Café

About the role

The Operations Manager will run a café that is part of The Drop but operates as an independent commercial unit. Reporting directly to the owner, the role focuses on profitability, site condition, and delivering a consistent guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the café strictly according to SOPs, ensuring consistent food and drink quality.
• Maintain daily stock control, monitor expiry dates, manage waste, and negotiate with suppliers.
• Develop and enforce a written cleaning schedule and checklist for the entire venue.
• Handle minor repairs directly and oversee larger maintenance projects through to completion.
• Manage outsourced security and service contractors, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Hire, train, schedule, and discipline café staff, fostering a culture of ownership and hospitality.
• Oversee revenue channels including delivery platforms, catering, and the Google Business profile.
