Site Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The client, a leading South African residential property developer, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead construction projects in Midrand. The role involves overseeing all phases of site operations, from planning through hand‑over, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise site activities and programme schedules.
• Manage subcontractors, labour forces and material logistics.
• Monitor budgets, control costs and produce accurate financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with quality specifications, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Act as primary contact for clients and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication.
• Lead and mentor site teams, handling performance management and conflict resolution.
• Organise and chair site and subcontractor meetings, keeping detailed records.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry.
• At least 3 years in a senior foreman or comparable leadership role.
• Qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering or Building (BSc or NDip).
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, testing procedures and health & safety regulations.
