SEO Outreach Specialist – South Africa (12‑month contract)

About the role

Canva is looking for an SEO Outreach Specialist to lead link‑building initiatives for its South African market. You will work in a hybrid setting, spending a few days each week at the Rosebank office and the rest remotely, delivering high‑quality backlinks that boost Canva’s search visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute end‑to‑end link‑building campaigns for priority landing pages.
• Identify and pursue brand‑mention opportunities across South Africa and later other SSA countries.
• Collaborate with the Country SEO Lead and Global Outreach Lead to prioritize high‑impact targets.
• Maintain relationships with webmasters, negotiate placements, and track performance.
• Report on authority growth metrics and adjust tactics based on results.

• Comfortable balancing proven SEO tactics with experimental approaches.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the capacity to work autonomously while aligning with team priorities.
