Senior Temporary Works Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Temporary Works Designer to join our Cape Town team. The role is full‑time and on‑site, focusing on the design and coordination of safe temporary structures for construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design safe and compliant temporary works, including scaffolding and formwork.
• Review technical specifications and produce detailed design drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify designs and provide technical solutions for complex challenges.
• Prepare reports, calculations and technical documentation to meet project requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Temporary Works Design, particularly scaffolding and formwork.
• Strong background in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced 3D modelling software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional registration or certification in Temporary Works Design is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate technical solutions.
