Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Project Manager leads the delivery of large, complex, or multi‑workstream technology engagements, owning the integrated plan, commercial aspects, senior stakeholder relationships, and delivery governance. The role operates with significant autonomy and may deputise for the Delivery Manager when required.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of major workstreams or a portfolio of projects, including integrated planning, cross‑workstream dependencies and critical‑path management.
• Lead delivery governance activities such as steering‑committee preparation, executive status reporting, stage‑gate reviews and escalation management.
• Manage project commercials – budget tracking, forecasting, resource planning, invoicing milestones and change‑request impact.
• Maintain senior stakeholder relationships on the client side, negotiate priorities, manage expectations and resolve conflicts.
• Drive strategic risk management, anticipate delivery risks, define mitigation strategies and manage contingencies.
• Coach, mentor and quality‑assure Project Managers and Scrum Masters, establishing delivery standards and templates.
• Oversee vendor and subcontractor performance against SLAs and contractual commitments.
• Contribute to account growth by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals and solutioning new scope.

Required profile

• 12+ years of IT experience with at least 6 years managing complex, multi‑team technology projects or small programmes.
• Proven track record delivering data platforms, cloud, AI or large application builds end‑to‑end.
• Strong commercial management experience (budgets, forecasts, margins, contract/CR management).
• Executive‑level communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience leading and developing other Project Managers.
• Sound technical understanding of modern data, cloud and AI delivery to make credible trade‑off decisions.
