Senior Power Converter Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Power Converter Design Engineer to lead the development of high‑performance DC‑DC and AC‑DC power conversion products. The role is based in Pretoria‑West and involves taking concepts through to full production, supporting both renewable energy and industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop SiC and GaN based power converters.
• Create and optimise control loops, compensation networks and perform stability analysis.
• Design magnetic components and layout PCBs for high‑power, high‑voltage systems.
• Conduct hardware development, testing and validation activities.
• Provide product development support and assist manufacturing teams during ramp‑up.

Required profile

• BEng or BTech in Electrical, Electronic or Power Electronics engineering (Master’s degree advantageous).
• 5‑10 years of hands‑on experience in power electronics design and development.
• Proven track record delivering DC‑DC and AC‑DC converters from concept to production.
• Experience with SiC and/or GaN devices and high‑power/high‑voltage systems.
