Senior Low‑Level Win32 Software Engineer

About the role

RIB is looking for a senior engineer to join its mature, engineering‑focused software team in Cape Town. You will work on high‑performance Win32 applications that support estimators, quantity surveyors, civil engineers and planners, building on a product used worldwide for over 30 years.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and work effectively within the proprietary Candy development environment.
• Take ownership of existing codebases and transition responsibilities from senior developers.
• Design, implement, and maintain high‑performance Win32 applications.
• Identify software issues, troubleshoot problems, and deliver effective fixes.
• Contribute ideas to continuously improve product quality, performance, and usability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Win32 API development and Win32 graphics programming.
• Background in engineering software or performance‑driven systems.
• Strong analytical skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn low‑level systems.
• Self‑motivated, diligent, and capable of solving complex problems.
• Ability to collaborate closely with other developers in a focused engineering team.
