Senior Financial Manager – Luxury Hospitality

About the role

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to lead the full financial and accounting function of a prestigious luxury hospitality operation that includes multiple premium lodges and facilities. Based in Cape Town, the Senior Financial Manager will partner closely with operational leadership to drive financial excellence across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting and financial function across several hospitality sites.
• Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of accountants and cost controllers.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity and compliance of all financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, executive reports and variance analyses.
• Oversee daily financial processing, cash flow management, cash forecasting and payment processes.
• Reconcile VAT, payroll, balance‑sheet accounts and handle statutory submissions.
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with financial policies.
• Partner with operational managers to monitor departmental performance and expenditure.
• Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts, review stock control and inventory reporting.
• Coordinate external audits and resolve audit findings promptly.
• Provide strategic financial analysis, identify risks and recommend profitability improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA articles or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of financial management experience, including at least 2 years in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards, tax and VAT legislation.
• Proven leadership experience managing finance teams.
