Senior Financial Accountant – Regional Finance (SA & Namibia)

About the role

This position is focused on foreign‑exchange (Forex) accounting and multi‑country finance for a global organisation. The Senior Financial Accountant will own the full accounting function for the South African, Namibian and Angolan operations, ensuring accurate reporting and strong controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile the trial balance through month‑end, meeting statutory and corporate reporting requirements.
• Manage the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, journals, adjustments, reconciliations and balance‑sheet schedules.
• Produce monthly financial and management reports for the UK head office and local management, including performance analysis.
• Support and train regional finance teams across multiple countries as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen controls and reduce costs.
• Prepare the annual budget, mid‑term forecasts and weekly cost forecasts.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis (month‑on‑month, year‑on‑year, actual vs. budget).

Required profile

• Accounting degree or diploma.
• 3‑5 years of corporate accounting experience, including balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Experience in medium to large organisations and foreign‑exchange accounting.
• Regional finance experience supporting multiple entities or countries.
• Proven ability in financial management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
