Senior Finance & Investment Manager

About the role

The Senior Finance & Investment Manager will operate at the intersection of commercial fund distribution and internal finance management for a growth‑stage alternative investment firm. This dual‑mandate position requires a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) who can bridge market‑facing activities with rigorous back‑office financial controls.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with accounting firms, advisors and referral partners to generate SMME client and investor opportunities.
• Translate complex fund structures into clear, investor‑focused collateral such as pitch decks, term sheets and FAQs.
• Participate in SMME client onboarding meetings, assess fit and address financial queries.
• Capture market feedback to refine product positioning and distribution strategy.
• Coordinate the monthly finance cycle: management accounts, journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Own corporate budgeting, rolling cash‑flow forecasts and funding requirement modelling.
• Implement scalable finance processes, approval workflows and documentation standards.
• Lead audit, tax and statutory filing coordination with external advisors.
• Oversee fund instrument accounting, including management fees, distributions, drawdowns and capital accounts.
• Prepare financial packs and reporting materials for executives, shareholders and fund investors.

Required profile

• Valid CA(SA) designation with a strong technical accounting foundation.
• Prior experience in private‑equity, alternative investment funds or similar finance environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑moving, growth‑stage organization.
