Senior Consultant – Onshore Renewables

About the role

The Senior Consultant will join OWC’s on‑site team during the construction phase of a large‑scale solar PV project. Reporting to the site manager and project manager, you will ensure that engineering, construction and quality activities performed by the EPC contractor meet all contractual, technical and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical data, reports and notes, providing accurate analyses for senior review.
• Maintain advanced spreadsheets and databases to track project progress and performance.
• Conduct site and facilities inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Review contractor reports, payment milestone certificates and as‑built documentation.
• Monitor contractor progress against weekly programmes and forecasts, reporting deviations.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with approved procedures, contributing to process improvements.
• Maintain comprehensive logbooks and quality documentation, supporting client liaison and project completion.

Required profile

• Degree qualification (minimum NQF 4) in Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant experience in on‑shore renewable energy construction, preferably solar PV.
• Proven ability to work independently and produce accurate technical documentation.
• Strong attention to health, safety and quality standards.
