About the role
The Draughting Office Supervisor will lead the drawing office of a well‑established civil and structural engineering firm. The role involves managing a team of draughtsmen, coordinating drawing projects and ensuring high‑quality deliverables for industrial plant designs.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee all draughting personnel, plan project priorities and manage IT resources for the drawing office.
- Provide guidance, internal training and support to the draughting team.
- Organise, plan and maintain documentation of drawings, submittals and schedules.
- Manage drawing distribution, verify accuracy and completeness of finished drawings, and collaborate with engineers to translate designs into detailed CAD drawings.
- Perform 3D modelling, create construction drawings and detect/report clashes or constructability issues.
- Develop and implement draughting policies, procedures and workflows, keeping abreast of industry trends.
Required profile
- 15–20 years of experience in engineering design draughting of concrete and steel structures, preferably in oil & gas, chemical, mining or power generation plants.
- Proven track record of managing a draughting team.
- Draughting or technical diploma (advantageous) and a valid driver’s licence.
- South African citizenship.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (minimum requirement).
- Strong competence with CAD software and 3D modelling.
