Senior Analyst Developer (12‑month contract)

About the role

An exciting 12‑month contract opportunity for a Senior Analyst Developer within a dynamic IT team serving the financial services sector in Cape Town. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality technical solutions, driving innovation, and mentoring junior developers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and debug software aligned to business and technical requirements.
• Contribute to solution architecture, establish technical frameworks, and produce technical documentation.
• Participate in cloud‑based solution design, including serverless, microservices and containerisation on AWS.
• Mentor junior developers, enforce coding standards and quality assurance practices.
• Prepare deployment artefacts, support release procedures and ensure environment stability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the SDLC and contribute to technical forums and POC initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant IT qualification (Diploma or Degree); B.Sc. or National Diploma in Computer Science preferred.
• AWS certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 8 + years of experience in object‑oriented software development.
• Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles and modern software engineering practices.
