Safety & Security Manager

About the role

Radisson Hotel Group is looking for a Safety & Security Manager to join its team at the Radisson Collection Hotel Waterfront in Cape Town. The role is responsible for keeping the hotel premises safe and secure while supporting guest satisfaction and departmental targets.

Key responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of the safety and security department, maintaining the highest standards across all aspects of safety and security.
• Work proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, responding promptly to guest enquiries.
• Deliver on plans and objectives so that safety and security initiatives and hotel targets are achieved.
• Manage the maintenance team, fostering a culture of growth, development and performance.
• Own the departmental budget, controlling costs and inventory while attaining productivity and performance levels.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.
• Deliver a planned preventative maintenance programme covering maintenance, environmental and conservation matters.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, with due diligence, best practice and documentation prepared for internal and external audits, including follow-up.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safety and security with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent managerial skills, with a hands-on, lead-by-example approach.
• Commitment to exceptional guest service and a passion for the hospitality industry.
• Ability to find creative solutions and offer advice and recommendations.
• Personal integrity and the ability to work in an environment demanding excellence, time and energy.
