Laundry Assistant

About the role

Kleinbosch, operating under Babylonstoren, is looking for a reliable and meticulous laundry assistant. The person will wash, dry, iron and maintain uniforms, workwear, bedding, kitchen linen and towels from the various departments on the farm.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, dry and iron uniforms, linen and other garments in line with standard procedures.
• Sort laundry by colour, fabric type and department, and make sure clothes are returned to the right departments.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the laundry room.
• Report damaged items or machine faults to the supervisor.
• Keep records of received and delivered laundry where applicable.
• Order stock and cleaning supplies and carry out monthly inventory counts.
• Quality control of linen.

Required profile

• Reliable and organised, with a keen eye for detail.
• Good time management and the ability to work under pressure.
• Proficient in Afrikaans and English.
• Discreet and professional when handling colleagues' workwear.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and handle lighter items.
• Experience in inventory management and quality control of linen is an advantage.
