Rubber Extruder Operator – Manufacturing Contractor

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Rubber Extruder Operator to join our manufacturing contractor team in Johannesburg’s Eastern Suburbs. The role involves operating extruders and molding presses to produce high‑quality rubber components on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate rubber extruders and molding presses.
• Load rubber compounds, pigments and chemicals into molds and unload finished parts.
• Inspect parts for defects such as flash or improper curing and perform trimming or grinding as needed.
• Carry out minor machine repairs, troubleshoot issues and adhere to strict safety and PPE procedures.
• Complete production logs, check sheets and report any problems to supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2‑4 years of manufacturing experience, preferably with rubber extrusion or molding.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for long periods in hot, noisy environments.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Ability to read blueprints, drawings or standard operating procedures.
• Experience operating extrusion or molding machinery.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and chemical handling.
