Electrical Technician

About the role

The Electrical Technician role is a full-time, on-site position located in Johannesburg. The Electrical Technician will install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems used in energy solutions, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical maintenance on energy solution equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults and troubleshoot issues to ensure safe operation.
• Support the commissioning of new installations and provide technical assistance.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams, interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Conduct inspections and document work performed in line with company and regulatory standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Provide technical support during project implementation and after‑sales service.

Required profile

• Strong skills in electrical maintenance and working with electrical equipment in industrial or energy‑related environments.
• Solid knowledge of electricity principles and basic electrical engineering concepts relevant to energy systems.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving electrical faults and performance issues.
• Relevant technical qualification or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience as an Electrical Technician or similar role, preferably in energy, utilities, or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices, with a strong commitment to safe working procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on‑site and with cross‑functional project teams.
• Willingness to travel to client sites within South Africa and Sub‑Saharan Africa when required.
