Roughage Plant Operator

About the role

Meadow Feeds is seeking a Roughage Plant Operator to run the roughage mixing line at its Pietermaritzburg facility. The role ensures safe, efficient production of high‑quality feed in line with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the roughage mixing line according to operating procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain optimum plant performance and meet production targets (tons per hour).
• Complete production log sheets accurately and promptly.
• Follow all health, safety, and quality regulations.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping and 20 Keys standards in the work area.
• Report equipment abnormalities or production issues to the supervisor.
• Assist in keeping the workplace clean, safe, and efficient.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Good planning and organisational skills with a focus on achieving production targets.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (advantageous).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
