Reward Manager – Africa (South Africa & East/West Africa)

About the role

Unilever is seeking a Reward Manager to lead the end‑to‑end reward agenda across South Africa and East & West Africa. Reporting to the Reward Director, you will shape and execute reward strategies that attract, retain and engage top talent while aligning with global principles and regional business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement reward strategies across the African region, adapting global initiatives to local market needs.
• Oversee total rewards delivery, including annual salary reviews, incentive programmes and pay‑equity analyses.
• Provide strategic reward guidance to senior business leaders, heads of functions, finance and HR partners.
• Support organisational changes such as restructures, transformations and mergers from a reward perspective.
• Ensure reward governance, compliance and policy adherence across all African markets.
• Lead market intelligence activities – salary benchmarking, competitor analysis and talent mapping.
• Champion pay fairness, equity, diversity and inclusion through reward design.
• Manage reward‑related budgets, forecasting and regional benefits programmes.
