Registered Nurse ICU Trained

About the role

Randfontein Private Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its General ICU department. The nurse delivers safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and provides direct and/or indirect care to patients or groups of patients, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in line with the Scope of Practice and take full responsibility for it
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Attend shift handover reports at the start of each shift
• Communicate effectively with patients about their care and promote their health and wellbeing
• Audit health records to ensure compliance
• Ensure stock is well controlled, managed, charged and credited correctly
• Maintain good relations with patients, relatives and visitors

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse, or an equivalent NQF 7 qualification
• Relevant qualification and experience in a specialised area
• Post Basic Diploma is essential
• Flexibility to work varying hours and shifts
• Ability to uphold health practice standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation

Required skills

• Compulsory BLS certification; PALS is advantageous
• Advanced computer literacy
