Experienced Registered Nurse – Theatre (X1)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe, cost‑effective, high‑quality patient care in the theatre department of Randfontein Private Hospital. You will be responsible for direct and indirect nursing care, assessing, planning and supervising care to meet patient needs.

Key responsibilities

• Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients and promote their health and wellbeing.
• Attend handover at shift commencement and communicate effectively with patients regarding their care.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
• Manage stock, ensuring it is well‑controlled, charged and credited appropriately.
• Maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse (or equivalent NQF 7 qualification).
• Relevant qualification and experience in a specialised area; Post Basic Diploma is essential.
• Compulsory BLS certification; PALS certification is advantageous.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and ability to implement health practice standards.
