Registered Nurse – Cath Lab

About the role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a specialised cardiac care team in a private healthcare setting. You will provide person‑centred nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation procedures, ensuring safety and clinical excellence throughout each intervention.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document individualized nursing care for Cath Lab patients.
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond promptly to any changes in clinical condition.
• Initiate emergency treatment and resuscitation when required.
• Act as a clinical resource, supporting colleagues to deliver safe and effective care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to professional nursing standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Assist with orientation, mentoring and development of nursing staff and students.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Relevant nursing qualification.
• Proven experience in a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
• Current CPR/resuscitation competency.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and up‑to‑date nursing practice.
