Registered Nurse – Acute Rehabilitation Unit

About the role

We are seeking confident, highly motivated Registered Nurses to join the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Life Entabeni Hospital in Durban. The role reports to the Nursing Services Coordinator and involves leading shifts within an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead shift activities, supervise nursing staff, and ensure compliance with SANC regulations and Life Healthcare policies.
• Deliver basic nursing care, develop treatment plans, and evaluate patient outcomes in line with the Quality Management System.
• Participate in risk management, health‑safety, and infection‑control standards.
• Manage unit resources, including stock, staffing, and equipment, while maintaining professional relationships with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in rehabilitation, neurological, or private settings.
• Flexibility to work shifts and ability to perform under pressure in a changing environment.
• Strong communication, customer orientation, and teamwork skills.
