Regional Supply Chain Assistant

About the role

The Regional Supply Chain Assistant supports customers in identifying cost‑saving opportunities and improving supply‑chain efficiency across the Gauteng region. Working closely with regional and national teams, the role acts as the front‑line administrative conduit between customers and Vector’s internal departments, ensuring smooth account operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review spend, categories and suppliers to identify savings, quality improvements and consolidation opportunities.
• Own regional office spend governance and collaborate with Regional Finance on cost impact.
• Maintain an active action‑and‑benefits plan with weekly status reporting.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitoring service levels and quality.
• Engage with Area Managers and General Managers to resolve logistics queries, support trials, new product launches and conduct time‑studies.
• Support regional projects such as “Fresh strips”, dual‑temperature deliveries and EPOD.
• Produce weekly status reports, monthly stakeholder meeting packs and review documents.
• Handle daily customer enquiries, investigate issues and escalate to the Account Manager when needed.
• Implement and update service‑level agreements and project plans, attend project meetings and ensure clear communication.
• Conduct store visits and assist with key account management activities.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Experience in procurement, supplier management and logistics coordination.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external customers.
• Proactive and organized approach to data capture, reporting and project administration.
