Junior Flight Operations Clerk

About the role

Aviation Link is seeking a Junior Flight Operations Clerk to support daily office activities at Lanseria International Airport. The role involves handling overflight and landing permissions, ground handling, fuel coordination, flight planning, cost estimation, and VIP crew and passenger arrangements worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Process overflight and landing permissions and arrange aircraft ground handling.
• Coordinate fuel, flight planning, and cost estimations for each flight.
• Manage crew and VIP passenger logistics on a 24/365 operation.
• Follow the roster schedule, working abnormal hours, weekends, public holidays, and night shifts as required.

Required profile

• South African citizen residing within a 45 km radius of Lanseria Airport.
• Willingness to work abnormal hours, weekends, public holidays and night shifts (≈45 hrs/week, overtime up to 55 hrs).
• Positive attitude, ability to think outside the box and handle high‑stress situations.
• Hybrid work capability – mostly remote with occasional on‑site duties.
• Own reliable private transport and a clear criminal record.
• Interest in aviation operations and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Required skills

• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Familiarity with WhatsApp and Signal for communication.
• Valid driver’s licence.
