About the role
The receptionist will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors and callers at a national accounting and auditing firm in Durban. The role blends front‑of‑house duties with broader administrative support, ensuring a welcoming environment and smooth daily operations.
Key responsibilities
- Answer and direct all incoming calls promptly and professionally.
- Take accurate messages and manage the reception email inbox.
- Greet visitors, offer refreshments, and maintain a tidy waiting area.
- Maintain the refreshment station and keep it stocked.
- Handle office shopping, supply ordering, petty‑cash management and source quotes for larger purchases.
- Scan, file, and organise documents; prepare meeting packs and client presentations.
- Make bookings, arrange practical services and follow up to confirm arrangements.
- Log and update tasks in the Infinity workflow system.
Required profile
- Matric qualification; post‑matric study or enrolment in a relevant course is a plus.
- Prior reception or front‑of‑house experience preferred.
- Well‑spoken, articulate English with a warm, professional tone.
- Professional appearance and grooming at all times.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Required skills
- Basic computer proficiency (email, scanning, printing, document handling).
