Reception and Night Audit Officer

About the role

City Lodge Hotels is hiring a full-time Reception and Night Audit officer at its hotel in Bryanston, South Africa. The role covers all reception and night audit duties, plus other tasks assigned by management, with the aim of making every guest a returning and referring guest.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and register guests, answer telephone calls and respond to queries and requests.
• Manage guest departures, process reservations and promote room sales.
• Carry out front office administrative tasks and handle money, including dispensing and depositing company funds.
• Maintain internal controls, safeguard revenue and follow compliance requirements.
• Build relationships with guests, travel agents, corporate clients and tour operators.
• Take part in group training and personal development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12.
• Computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advantageous: front office or reception experience.
• Subject to a fraud and credit check because the job handles money.
• Long hours and shifts, with prolonged sitting, standing and manual handling.

Required skills

• Knowledge of phone systems, local area information, Property Management Systems (PMS), administrative procedures, health and safety regulations and customer service principles.
• Customer service, verbal and written communication, administrative work, conflict management and learning agility.
