Qualified Diesel Mechanic – Trucks & Buses (Red Seal)

About the role

HD Transmissions, a specialist in heavy‑duty automatic transmissions with over 35 years of experience, is looking for a qualified Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join its team. The role involves servicing and repairing trucks and buses and requires immediate availability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine services and major repairs on heavy‑duty trucks and buses.
• Remove, strip, and replace transmissions on large vehicles.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical fault finding using diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out dyno testing and post‑repair road tests.
• Prepare detailed job card reports and assist with parts logistics.

Required profile

• MerSETA Red Seal qualification (trade‑tested diesel mechanic).
• 3–5 years of experience with diesel engines and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Proficient in Afrikaans and English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Valid driver’s licence (Code 10/14 preferred) and own reliable transport.
• Good health, physically fit, and basic computer literacy.
