Project Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

Energy Group is seeking a Project Engineer to support the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects in South Africa. The role offers exposure to feasibility studies, commercial structuring, procurement, construction, and operation of solar PV, wind, battery storage and natural‑gas solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate renewable‑energy strategies for industrial clients.
• Support development and delivery of projects through coordination of internal and third‑party resources.
• Perform quantitative analysis, financial modelling and risk identification.
• Engage senior clients and stakeholders, managing relationships and expectations.
• Oversee schedule management, problem‑solving during development and ensure project milestones are met.
• Travel to project sites as required.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with excellent academic results.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to use AI tools to improve workflows.
• Self‑starter, independent critical thinker and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
