Production Manager – ISO Compliance & Production Oversight

About the role

Turnstar is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead its Johannesburg manufacturing site. The role combines ISO 9001 compliance, production planning, stock control and people management to ensure efficient, cost‑effective operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, track non‑conformance reports and support risk assessments.
• Plan, organise and oversee production schedules, allocate jobs, monitor deadlines and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly scrap reports, handle customer complaints and ensure export documentation is accurate.
• Supervise stock control, maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate with the Stores Supervisor.
• Recruit, induct, coach and evaluate factory staff, conduct weekly production meetings and ensure compliance with Employment Equity requirements.
• Monitor departmental efficiencies, generate output reports and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (mandatory).
• Proven experience in manufacturing environments, preferably with ISO 9001 exposure.
• Strong understanding of production planning, budgeting and export processes.
• Ability to lead teams, manage performance and enforce health‑and‑safety standards.
