Production Manager – Furniture Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Manager will lead the manufacturing team to deliver furniture products on schedule while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role combines people leadership, operational planning and close collaboration with internal and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, lead and control a production team to meet program targets.
• Ensure product quality and adherence to established standards.
• Train staff on required procedures and monitor performance.
• Handle performance management, discipline, wages and other HR responsibilities.
• Coordinate inter‑departmental activities and liaise with retail partners.
• Address staff issues with empathy and professionalism.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or relevant tertiary education; production diploma advantageous.
• 3‑5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Participative leadership style with strong communication abilities.
• Experience in furniture manufacturing and quality‑focused settings.
• Ability to adapt to change, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of production analysis and workflow optimisation.
• Basic sewing skills (advantageous).
