About the role
A leading automotive manufacturing company in Prospecton, Durban is looking for an experienced Production Engineer. The role focuses on driving production efficiency, quality, safety, cost optimisation and continuous improvement across the plant.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
- Monitor daily production activities, ensuring schedules, quality standards and cost targets are met.
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, engineering, quality and other departments to maintain smooth production flow.
- Supervise and mentor production personnel, providing training and performance management.
- Lead process‑improvement initiatives and manage manufacturing projects.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with strong production, process‑improvement and people‑management skills.
- Hands‑on, commercially minded leader capable of identifying and solving operational challenges.
- Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams to achieve production goals.
