Procurement Operations Lead

About the role

The Global healthcare company is seeking an experienced Procurement Operations Lead to design, build and embed a centralized procurement function in Midrand. You will drive the transformation from a fragmented procurement environment to a unified, best‑in‑class operating model.

Key responsibilities

• Design, establish and embed a centralized procurement operating model.
• Lead the transformation from decentralized to a mature, unified procurement function.
• Define and implement procurement governance, processes, systems and controls aligned to global standards.
• Drive initiatives such as Ariba implementation, productivity programs and operational excellence.
• Deliver sustainable cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation and commercial optimisation.
• Represent the procurement function internally and externally, including vendors, auditors and global stakeholders.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting aligned with Supply Chain leadership.
• Build and lead a high‑performing procurement team, overseeing recruitment, role design and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of procurement or supply chain leadership experience, preferably in a multi‑category or country‑level role.
• Healthcare industry experience is advantageous.
• Experience in global or multinational environments is a plus.
• Proven track record of building, transforming or centralising procurement functions within complex organisations.
