Procurement Manager – Irrigation

About the role

The Procurement Manager – Irrigation will lead profitable growth and sustainable expansion of OVK's irrigation category. You will be responsible for strategic development, commercial performance and product range management while supporting branches and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the irrigation category strategy, growth plan and annual budget.
• Identify new product lines, brands, market opportunities and geographic expansions.
• Negotiate supplier terms, pricing, rebates, discounts, service levels and exclusivity where appropriate.
• Manage the Product Series Manager for Irrigation and ensure clear accountability.
• Support branch managers and marketers with technical advice, quotations and joint customer visits.
• Define inventory policies, revenue targets, availability, stock ageing and delivery models.
• Ensure product quality, warranty and claims management, supplier compliance and applicable standards.
• Analyse sales, margin and inventory reports and report monthly on performance and improvement actions.
• Lead training and product introductions for branches and sales staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in agricultural irrigation with proven commercial and technical expertise.
• Experience in purchasing, supplier negotiation, inventory and category management.
• Management and leadership experience.
• Willingness to travel regularly to branches, suppliers, marketers and customers.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of irrigation design, pumps, pipes, valves, filters, pivots, drip and micro‑irrigation systems.
• Proficiency with irrigation design programmes and AS400.
• Understanding of supplier compliance and warranty management.
