About the role
The Senior Grain Grader provides essential support to the Silo Manager in operating the silo and determining the grade of grain commodities in a fair and ethical manner. The role is based on‑site in the Free State and involves both technical grading tasks and administrative duties.
Key responsibilities
- Grade grain commodities according to established standards.
- Control and monitor stock levels within the silo.
- Maintain accurate administrative records related to grading and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and food‑safety requirements.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in grain grading or silo operations.
- Completed grain‑grading courses (preferred).
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to work long hours, including climbing silos.
Required skills
- Strong communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
- Good interpersonal abilities and strong administrative orientation.
