Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management Intern

About the role

Midvaal Local Municipality is offering a six‑month internship for two graduates to support energy efficiency and demand‑side management projects in Meyerton. The role provides practical experience in municipal energy initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with energy assessments and audits, collecting and analysing consumption data.
• Support energy‑saving projects involving lighting, HVAC, and control systems.
• Help with load‑management and awareness campaigns.
• Prepare technical and progress reports and liaise with municipal stakeholders and contractors.
• Participate in workshops and training sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) or Diploma (NQF 6) in Electrical Engineering, Built Environment, Natural Sciences, Economic Sciences or a related field.
• Unemployed graduate residing within the Midvaal municipal area.
• Good analytical, report‑writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous.
