PR Account Executive – Boutique Communications Agency

About the role

This hybrid position is for a sharp, agile PR Account Executive looking to grow within an award‑winning boutique communications agency in Cape Town. You will support both corporate and consumer brand campaigns, gaining hands‑on experience in media relations, content creation, project management and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Account Director and Account Manager in developing client strategies, plans and strategic documents.
• Assist with media sell‑ins, ensuring media targets are met under supervision.
• Create compelling, news‑worthy content including press releases and social media calendars.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers and media outlets.
• Prepare proposals, budgets and status reports for events and projects.
• Attend client meetings, draft agendas and circulate minutes within 24 hours.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets and KPIs to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant industry qualification.
• Approximately 2 years of PR agency experience.
• Strong admin, process and reporting skills.
• Proactive research ability and awareness of communication trends.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
• Good understanding of marketing disciplines such as social media, digital, branding and graphic design.
• Attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
