About the role

Dis-Chem is seeking a Post‑Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for its The Verge store in Edenvale. The role involves dispensing medications, providing pharmaceutical advice, and supporting pharmacy operations under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications, interpret prescriptions and label medicines accurately under pharmacist supervision.
• Provide patient counseling, advise on medication use, and handle medical aid queries.
• Process pharmacy paperwork, submit medical scheme claims and manage chronic, HIV and oncology authorisations.
• Maintain stock levels, conduct stock takes and report low‑stock or errors to the dispensary manager.
• Ensure store cleanliness, adhere to health‑and‑safety standards and follow Dis‑Chem policies and SOPs.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with a Post‑Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council and able to work retail hours.
• Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and hold a valid driver’s licence.
