Compliance Officer – Remote (US Hours)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to lead internal compliance, governance, documentation and audit readiness across the organisation. The role ensures that policies, processes, employee and medical records meet regulatory and company standards, and serves as the primary contact for external audits and compliance reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular internal audits of processes, records and operational procedures, monitoring compliance with HIPAA, HR and company policies.
• Identify compliance gaps, risks and inconsistencies, recommend corrective actions and track their implementation.
• Maintain a compliance calendar covering audits, renewals and regulatory deadlines, and keep policies up‑to‑date.
• Serve as the main liaison for external audits, preparing and submitting documentation to ensure audit readiness at all times.
• Oversee medical records compliance, ensuring privacy, confidentiality and information security requirements are met.
• Manage policy and documentation libraries, support departments in implementing compliance requirements, and assist with governance and company secretarial tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, quality assurance, internal auditing or a closely related role.
• Practical knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing for and supporting external audits.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to hold stakeholders accountable.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
