Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic Qualified) – Sandton Gate

About the role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies are seeking a reputable Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic Qualified) for their Sandton Gate store. You will dispense medications, provide pharmaceutical expertise to patients and health‑care professionals, and ensure the safe and effective use of prescription medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense and label medicines accurately under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist with compounding, preparation and repackaging of non‑sterile and sterile medicines.
• Manage stock control, ordering and distribution of Schedule 1‑5 medicines.
• Provide patient counselling, explain medical aid costs and follow up on script tracking.
• Process paperwork for medical‑scheme claims and maintain customer profiles.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric and a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Willingness to work retail hours; additional language or retail/FMCG knowledge is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Unisolv SAP.
• Experience with E‑Scripting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer numerical skills.
