Pharmacist Assistant (Day & Night) – Unicare Parklands

About the role

Unicare Parklands is looking for a dedicated Pharmacist Assistant to join its 24‑hour pharmacy team. You will work day and night shifts, providing professional, confidential service to customers while supporting the Dispensary Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with customers professionally, handling prescription dispensing and related procedures.
• Manage patient profiles, answer medication queries by phone or in‑person, and provide general health advice.
• Coordinate chronic authorisations in partnership with the medical‑aid team.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals and other pharmacy departments as needed.
• Maintain efficient stock control, repack medicines, and ensure accurate dispensary administration.
• Perform compounding, uphold high standards of housekeeping and merchandise display.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmacist Assistant or similar retail pharmacy role.
• Valid Further Education and Training Certificate in Pharmacist Assistance and registration with SAPC.
• Strong product knowledge (including OTC), SAPC and legal compliance awareness.
• Customer‑service orientation and ethical working practice.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective time‑management and initiative‑taking.
