PET Setter

About the role

An opportunity exists for a qualified and skilled PET Setter to join the team at Mpact Plastics. The role is based in the Cape Town operations and focuses on maintaining efficient production of PET products.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the production line follows plant policies, procedures, and schedules.
• Manage production start‑ups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
• Monitor product and machine specifications, adjusting as needed.
• Take corrective actions based on customer samples and shift work.
• Meet shift production goals, controlling efficiency and scrap levels.
• Complete shift paperwork, including daily reports and downtime logs.
• Carry out daily general maintenance on all machines.
• Perform quality control, reject out‑of‑spec product using the CAR system, and address defects immediately.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (required) and preferably a qualification in machine setting.
• 3‑5 years experience in an injection/PET manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO systems, procedures, and measuring equipment.
