Performance Marketing Manager

About the role

This position is for a Performance Marketing Manager based in South Africa, responsible for owning the paid acquisition strategy within a fast‑growing ecommerce environment. You will lead the evolution of paid media operations, manage external agencies, and build the foundation for future in‑house capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute paid media strategy across Google Ads, Meta Ads and other acquisition channels aligned with revenue targets.
• Manage external paid‑media agencies, set performance expectations, review recommendations and ensure accountability.
• Transition selected paid‑media activities from agency‑led execution to internal ownership.
• Optimize campaigns directly, improving targeting, bidding, creative testing and overall channel performance.
• Oversee Google Ads activities including Search, Shopping, Performance Max, YouTube, product‑level optimization and conversion tracking.
• Lead Meta advertising for prospecting, retargeting, product launches and creative testing.
• Explore new acquisition opportunities such as affiliate marketing, influencer partnerships, Reddit, LinkedIn and emerging platforms.
• Establish measurement frameworks, reporting processes and dashboards to track ROI, revenue contribution and acquisition efficiency.
• Collaborate with merchandising, lifecycle marketing, creative and sales teams to align paid campaigns with commercial priorities.

Required profile

• Data‑driven performance marketing professional with strong expertise in paid acquisition and agency management.
• Proven experience in ecommerce growth and revenue‑focused decision making.
• Comfortable owning key metrics, defining hypotheses, evaluating results and scaling successful experiments.
