People Coordinator

About the role

The People Coordinator will own and support employee lifecycle operations across multiple global markets, handling people administration, payroll coordination, HR data, learning materials, and leveraging AI and automation. The position is based in Cape Town with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the People Operations Director to design and continuously improve employee lifecycle processes.
• Administer onboarding and off‑boarding, ensuring a smooth experience for joiners and leavers.
• Act as primary administrator for the HRIS (HiBob) and maintain audit‑ready employee records.
• Coordinate monthly payroll inputs across markets and liaise with Finance, local payroll providers and Employer of Record partners.
• Manage global contractor administration from engagement through off‑boarding.
• Support hiring logistics, including job postings, interview scheduling and offer letters.
• Design engaging decks, training materials and visual resources for learning, culture and company‑wide announcements.
• Identify and implement AI‑driven automation opportunities to streamline people workflows.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in People Operations, HR Administration or a similar coordinator role, preferably in a fast‑paced global environment.
• Hands‑on experience with an HRIS, HiBob being a strong plus.
• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets.
• Comfort using design tools such as Canva, Figma, PowerPoint or Google Slides to create clear, engaging materials.
• Genuine curiosity about emerging AI tools and practical ideas for automation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and proactive communication skills.
