Pellet Mill Operator

About the role

Meadow Feeds is seeking a reliable Pellet Mill Operator to join its production team. You will be responsible for running the pellet mill in line with standard operating procedures and ensuring the highest product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the pellet mill according to SOPs and quality standards.
• Conduct durability and percentage fines testing to verify product specifications.
• Achieve daily production targets while maintaining optimal plant performance.
• Monitor bin levels on the 6th floor to guarantee uninterrupted production flow.
• Route pelleters using the PLC system and complete all required operational checks.
• Accurately fill production log sheets and maintain records.
• Report equipment abnormalities or production issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain housekeeping and 20 Keys standards in the work area.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Good planning and organisational skills with a focus on meeting production targets.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting (advantageous but not mandatory).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and a commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
