Part-Time Lecturer - Public Management

About the role

The Department of Public Management at Tshwane University of Technology is looking for part-time lecturers to teach first and second semester subjects for the 2027 academic year. Applicants must submit a completed standardised application form, a CV and certified copies of their qualifications and identity document; candidates may also face psychometric testing.

Key responsibilities

• Present lectures and assess students in various subjects (day classes)
• Handle administrative tasks related to teaching and learning
• Take part in departmental community projects
• Compile and maintain quality study guides, subject files and other teaching and learning materials
• Liaise with industry on work-integrated learning matters
• Attend departmental meetings as required by the faculty
• Set and mark all assessments
• Carry out general administration, such as entering test and assignment marks on the ITS system and uploading documents to BrightSpace
• Consult with students

Required profile

• A Master's degree in Public Management, Public Affairs, Administration, Local Government or equivalent
• A higher education qualification is an advantage
• At least 3 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution
• Research and publication evidence in DHET-accredited journals and registration with a professional body (if applicable) are advantages
