Paid Social Media Traineeship (German-speaking)

About the role

Webrepublic, a Swiss digital agency with a South African subsidiary, is looking for a German-speaking Paid Social Media Trainee to join its Paid Social Media team in Cape Town. The 6-month traineeship gives hands-on experience in paid social campaigns, campaign management, data analysis and reporting, with mentorship from specialists in Cape Town and Zurich. It leads to a Junior Paid Social Media Consultant role.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with setting up and managing digital advertising campaigns on Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and other channels
• Support campaign planning by researching audiences, channels and targeting opportunities
• Monitor campaign performance and budgets, and flag issues or unusual results
• Learn key metrics such as CPC, CTR, CPA, conversions and ROAS
• Assist with campaign optimisation and the implementation of tracking elements such as UTMs and conversion tracking
• Help prepare campaign reports, dashboards and performance summaries, and analyse data for trends
• Support quality assurance checks and work with international teams on global client campaigns
• Take part in structured training on digital advertising platforms and performance marketing

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Management, Data Analytics, Communications or a related field
• At least 1-2 years of experience in any field, with an interest in marketing, business or data-driven environments
• Fluent German and English, written and spoken, with strong communication skills
• Valid RSA ID or legal right to work in South Africa

Required skills

• Numerical and digital mind, with basic knowledge of CPC, CTR, CPA, conversions and ROAS
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Analytical, proactive, organised, highly coachable and comfortable in an international, collaborative environment
