Packaging Materials & Systems Administrator

About the role

This position supports the packhouse operations by managing packaging material inventories and ensuring that production teams have the supplies they need. The role combines stock control, data reporting and coordination of carton folding activities in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the System Manager with system administration tasks as required.
• Manage and control packaging material stock within the packhouse, minimizing excess at the end of each commodity cycle.
• Maintain sufficient stock levels to meet production demands and coordinate with production teams to anticipate material needs.
• Oversee timely carton folding, maintain buffer stock of folded cartons, and record data from folding machines.
• Order packaging materials following company protocols and record carton waste and usage accurately.
• Compile daily stock level reports, conduct stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Previous experience in a packhouse or warehouse environment.
• Strong stock control and inventory management abilities.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and reliable reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work overtime and night shifts during peak seasons.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Advanced Excel skills (stock systems advantageous).
