Oral Hygienist – Orthodontic Practice in Rondebosch

About the role

An established orthodontic practice in Rondebosch, Cape Town is looking for an experienced Oral Hygienist. You will deliver high‑quality preventive care, support orthodontic procedures, and help maintain an efficient, patient‑focused clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oral hygiene treatments and preventive care to patients.
• Manage an independent treatment chair and assist with orthodontic procedures.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
• Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, and infection‑control protocols.
• Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and treatment areas.
• Support the orthodontist with clinical procedures as needed.
• Identify workflow improvements and assist with problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Relevant Oral Hygienist qualification and current HPCSA registration.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an orthodontic practice.
• Ability to work independently and manage a treatment chair.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in oral hygiene treatment techniques.
• Knowledge of infection‑control and sterilisation protocols.
• Effective patient communication and education.
