Operations Internal Auditor

About the role

Mukuru is seeking an Operations Internal Auditor to strengthen governance, reduce risk, and improve operational efficiency across its branches and booths in Malawi and the wider region. The role combines analytical rigor with practical problem‑solving to protect the company’s core processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits across branches and booths to assess risk and compliance.
• Analyse operational processes, identify inefficiencies and control gaps.
• Prepare high‑quality audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Partner with management to implement improvements and monitor progress.
• Evaluate internal controls and advise on stronger governance practices.
• Identify risks and support the business in effective mitigation.
• Contribute to the annual audit plan and report findings to leadership.

Required profile

• BCom or Internal Auditing qualification (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in operational or branch auditing.
• Solid knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and governance.
• Proven experience recommending improvements to systems and controls.
• Critical thinker who challenges the status quo and communicates confidently.
• Detail‑oriented with a big‑picture perspective.
• Willingness to travel to operational sites across regions.
